The Stooges Car Club was started quite accidentally in 2006. Frank Besowshek, J.L. Evans and Tony Lovio met while attending local car shows in the Dallas, TX metroplex area. They enjoyed each other's company and shared a common interest in old cars - each being proud of their own, especially since each was from a different car maker Ford (Frank), Chrysler (J.L.) and GM/Chevy (Tony). While attending a local car show in 2006 and sitting together during an awards presentation, the show organizer (Jeff Rosen of Gasoline Alley) and good friend of theirs, casually and jokingly referred to them as, "The Three Stooges". The name stuck. And they even started to call each other by the old, original stooge names: Larry (Frank), Moe (Tony) and Curley (J.L.).

As they met or asked other friends with similar cars and interests to join them at shows, the Stooges group grew to the point where there are over thirty members today.

Many car clubs have dues, meetings, officers and the like. The Stooges Car Club has none of that. We don't feel we need any of that or other formal structure. The main purpose or mission of the club is to simply meet, enjoy each other's friendship and have fun with their cars primarily at car shows, parades or similar events. While coming to every show or event certainly isn't mandatory by any means, all members are encouraged to attend such events as that is the purpose for our existence. Beyond that, the only rule is that there are no rules. Just come and have fun.

If anyone is interested in learning more about us, just come to a local Dallas area car show. The chances are you'll find some stooges there!!
